Recently, a delegation led by Gu Shangkun, Chief Advisor of the China General Artists Association and Chairman of Shenzhen Shangkun Technology Group Co., Ltd., visited Yumen Group Co., Ltd. (China Regional Headquarters) in the United States for an inspection tour. They held discussions with Jiang Liujun, President of the American International Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chairman of the World Chinese Mass Media Association Foundation, and Chairman of Yumen Group Co., Ltd. The parties engaged in in-depth negotiations on global promotion of technologies and products related to mineral-based bioenzymes (OBE) for biodegradable plastics, the establishment of international industrial and supply chains, as well as cooperation in multiple fields including foreign trade, agricultural industries, project investment, and financial services, reaching broad consensus. This visit further enhanced mutual understanding between Shangkun Technology Group and Yumen Group, laying a solid foundation and providing new impetus for both parties to leverage their respective strengths in jointly expanding international markets and offering China-based solutions for global white pollution governance.
Shenzhen Shangkun Technology Group is a comprehensive conglomerate integrating high technology and new materials, primarily engaged in industries such as ore-based bioenzyme (OBE) biodegradable plastic masterbatches, liquid chitin, microbial marine organisms, ecological agriculture, and wastewater treatment. The ore-based bioenzyme (OBE) biodegradable plastic masterbatches and chitin slurries, along with their production methods, have passed inspections by relevant national authorities and secured four independent intellectual property invention patents for bioenzymes and dozens of utility model patents. The company is recognized as a high-tech enterprise and a specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprise in Guizhou Province. Its independently developed technological achievements have filled international gaps, making it the only enterprise recognized by eight national ministries and commissions capable of degrading plastics through natural cycling processes. The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening Plastic Pollution Control," which standardized related pollution management issues. The company's chairman, Gu Shangkun, holds national patents for "OBE (biodegradable plastics)" and "liquid chitin." In 2013, he received the "Golden Bridge Award" awarded by the China Technology Market Association for his OBE project. The group's technical products have simultaneously obtained FDA food-grade safety certification and EU RoHS non-toxicity certification. Strawberries grown using its liquid chitin technology have even won first prize at an international strawberry competition.
Chairman Gu Shangkun and his delegation conducted an on-site visit to the headquarters building of Yumen Group Co., Ltd. (China Regional Headquarters), where they gained a detailed understanding of the operational development across various divisions as well as the group's efforts in Party building and cultural development. They highly praised Yumen Group's achievements in import-export trade, industrial investment, and educational, sports, and cultural exchanges, and expressed their commitment to leveraging this visit as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Yumen Group, refine business alignment, fully utilize respective resource and technological advantages, continuously innovate and enhance competitiveness in areas such as global white pollution control and the international promotion of new eco-friendly materials, consistently provide high-quality products and services to people worldwide, and contribute China-based solutions to global environmental governance.
President Jiang Liujun extended a warm welcome to Chairman Gu Shangkun and his delegation. He provided detailed introductions to Gu and others regarding the development history, industrial layout, and overseas presence of the American International Chamber of Industry Investment and Yuemin Group, with particular emphasis on the group's establishment of companies and offices in 25 countries and regions. President Jiang stated that addressing "white pollution" is a global challenge widely recognized as the second most critical environmental issue after climate change, and that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Chinese government has enacted numerous laws and regulations in this regard.The responsibilities of various government departments in addressing white pollution have been clearly defined, with the 15th Five-Year Plan further specifying the duties and obligations across all segments of the plastic industry supply chain. As ecological civilization construction advances and guided by the strategic objectives of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, white pollution governance has been elevated to a pivotal position within the national governance framework. Internationally, developed countries such as the United States, Japan, and Europe have established legislative frameworks that employ mechanisms like extended producer responsibility and plastic taxes to promote governance; developing countries have also taken proactive measures—Rwanda has implemented its "Plastic-Free Nation" initiative, while Indonesia launched the "Plastic Bank" project, both achieving significant results. Looking ahead, synthetic biology, smart material systems, and circular system integration technologies will drive a materials revolution, further enhancing multi-stakeholder governance models to collectively tackle white pollution.Under such circumstances, promoting the multiple technologies independently developed by Shangkun Technology Group globally not only facilitates the "going global" of China's enterprises and technologies but also contributes Chinese wisdom and solutions to global ecological governance, offering immense development prospects. Chairman Jiang Liujun expressed appreciation for Chairman Gu Shangkun's achievements in addressing white pollution and his determination in promoting technological products. He hoped that the American International Chamber of Commerce for Industry Investment and Yuemin Group would leverage their advantages in global supply chains, industrial chains, and resources, as well as their mature overseas experience in industrial investment and comprehensive production-supply-marketing systems, to continuously deepen cooperation between the two parties in various fields such as investment and factory establishment, product marketing, and technological collaboration.
The host and guest parties also engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics of mutual interest, including industrial investment and technological research and development, reaching a comprehensive consensus. They signed the Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation Agreement, which clarified their respective intentions regarding overseas investment and factory establishment, technology promotion, and product marketing. Both parties agreed that OBE (Ore-Based Enzyme) biodegradable plastic technology and products represent a viable solution to global white pollution issues. They emphasized the need to leverage Yuemin Group's existing domestic and international resource networks to both promote the adoption of this technology across China and expand its global reach by introducing high-quality technologies and products worldwide.It is essential to fully leverage the extensive reach of the American International Investment Council across 105 countries, focusing on key regions in North America, Southern Europe, South America, Central Africa, and Asia that are severely affected by white pollution, to introduce advanced technologies and products to the areas where they are most needed and suitable, thereby contributing to global ecological governance. Both parties believe that this visit and exchange will establish a more efficient communication bridge between them and further strengthen their cooperative foundation. Moving forward, they aim to promptly implement relevant cooperation agreements and ensure that related projects are launched, commence operations, and yield tangible results as soon as possible. Subsequently, President Jiang Liujun accompanied Gu Shangkun's delegation to Ya' an, Sichuan, for face-to-face discussions with local officials regarding issues such as technology transfer and investment-driven factory establishment.
